We read in Scripture that even the Apostles needed time to rest and be with the Lord. Jesus tells them after they return from their preaching mission to “come away and rest a while.” (see Mk 6:30) In our lives as disciples, we too need to set aside time to quiet ourselves and listen more closely to Our Lord. These retreats intend to give that time to let the Lord refresh us and build us up as a community.

 

Part of the goal of these retreats is to launch continuously meeting small groups in our Parish Family. The same people who meet in small groups on the retreat will continue to meet throughout the year. The small groups will meet at participant’s houses, restaurant of choice, or other agreed upon location for ease of travel. These small groups of about seven members will be able to reflect on the Scriptures together and encourage each other in their discipleship.

 

Both Men’s and Women’s retreats follow the same layout: Dinner and Adoration (with opportunity for Confession) at Star campus on Friday night, participants return to their homes at night once the session is over. The retreat resumes at Holy Trinity the next day, lasting from morning until early afternoon.
