Memorial of St. Theresé of Lisieux

A few weeks back we had the opening Mass for the 100 Year anniversary of Our Lady Star of the Sea School. It is a very exciting legacy of making disciples of Jesus Christ here in Bremerton and I know it is a great story that so many of you have been a part of.

Although in many places Catholic Schools are struggling, we are very blessed to have a vibrant and growing school with faithful Catholic staff and teachers including the Dominican Sisters.

Many of you are familiar with our School Annual Fund campaign, but for those of you who are new, let me introduce this critical component of our school funding. The School Annual Fund is an opportunity for all our parishioners to contribute to making Catholic Education affordable for our parish families.

Our school is the best tool we have for evangelization – but it takes an investment from all of us.

For most of our young families with kids in the school it would be impossible for them to pay the true cost of providing a great Catholic Education. That’s why we depend upon the commitment of our whole parish family to make it possible.

I am writing to ask for your financial assistance in making Catholic Education possible. Scholarships and tuition assistance are always necessary to cover the gap between the actual cost per student and what our families can afford. The School Annual Fund is an opportunity for all of you to contribute to the best way we have as Catholics in Bremerton to make disciples of Jesus Christ in the next generation.

We are depending upon the generosity of the whole parish community to be able to support the important work that is happening as we hand on the faith to the next generation.

Thanks,

Fr. Lappe
